Penggunaan

Templat bahasa ini mengidentifikasi teks non-Indonesia. Parameter yang diperlukan hanyalah IETF language tag dan istilah atau frasa non-Indonesia. Teks diformat sesuai rekomendasi dalam Templat:Section link; huruf miring untuk bahasa yang menggunakan alfabet Latin, normal untuk bahasa lainnya.

Templat umumnya harus ditempatkan setelah terjemahan bahasa Indonesia dari istilah atau frasa asing.

• Parameter |links=no mencegah nama bahasa ditautkan.
• Parameter |translit= memungkinkan identifikasi romanisasi. Parameter ini tidak didukung oleh templat {{langx|<[[:Templat:Var]]>|...}} untuk bahasa yang sudah ditulis dalam aksara Latin.
• Parameter |lit= memungkinkan terjemahan literal (dalam bahasa Inggris) diberikan.
